Split into two three mile jogs. First three was followed by a leg lift.

3 miles and lifting. I've been steady doing this for a while. It has to be my workout on weekdays because my work schedule doesn't give me as much time to train.

The longest run I've done in three months! Trying to build up my aerobic base. Felt surprisingly good, only a bit sore.

Four in the morning before breakfast. Hurt a bit as I haven't trained before eating and working for a while. The second four was in the afternoon. It felt really good. I must've recovered well between the two runs.

Did a four miler at about 6AM. Noticed a great improvement having a small snack beforehand.

Another four followed at about 2:30PM. Still trying to build up mileage, but not in a huge hurry.

Welcome to the blog, and good luck on your goals. What school do you plan on going to?

I want to go to either SUNY Cortland or SUNY Brockport for sports psychology (and XC hopefully!) Thanks for the welcome! Are you a serious runner or more laid back/casual?

I am more of a casual masters runner. Just started running again last year and am still building a base, about thirty miles a week. I ran track (quarter and half mile) in High School but didn't keep it up after that. Good luck with your plans for college.

It felt really great today doing the progression. Of course, it got a bit hard between mile 2 and 3, but mile 4 made me want to keep going for longer. I didn't though because I had lifting to do afterwards. Gotta build that base!

Welcome to the blog. I'm a recreational runner. But there are a lot of very talented runners here that can help you. Good luck and keep up the good work.

I did a progression for the first 3 miles, then a mile at a moderate pace, then a progression for the 5th mile and moderate for the 6th. It felt pretty good! I lifted a bit after, then cooled down on the bike for 10 mins.

A nice tempo run. Felt good but can't wait to get outside...

I know you are looking for advise on running so i thought I would make a couple of suggestions. One of the best blog members for advise is Jake K check out http://jkrong.fastrunningblog.com/blog--AM-6-miles-around-neighborhood-R/03-22-2013.html. Following his posts can be very enlightening. Also, there has been a very interesting thread on Rob Murphy's blog today, you might want to check it out. http://murphy.fastrunningblog.com/blog-03-22-2013.html

Four miles and a lift. The lift felt satisfying, not super exhausting, just right.

Between 7 and 8 miles. 6 tempo with a 15 minute cool down. Trying to increase milage slowly.

Total Distance

4 miles in the AM and stretching. 5 miles in the afternoon, 3 at tempo and two cool down. I want to be able to do all 9 at once just to prove I can. I think my tempo work will help on the track though.
